More of my favorites of 2012.
Farming is a big part of the South Jersey landscape and I’ve wanted to spend more time photographing our “farmscapes” but for some reason it is coming along very slowly. Here is an example of a wheat field which is a large crop that is grown around here.
I had noticed this wheat field one day driving around during the week and stopped to plan a shot. Early on a Saturday the conditions were right and although I almost talked myself out of it I dragged my gear up and got this image. Interestingly enough this field was completely harvested later in the day.

Lucky catch… beautiful choice of sepia and your perspective is right on. Side note …was great to actually meet the person behind the pics… wish we could have talked more…until the next time.
Thanks Mike. It was great to meet you as well and it was a shame we didn’t have more time to get acquainted, but as you said, there is always the next meeting.
You are an artist my friend.
Way to go Rich!

Thanks Kevin,
That means a lot coming from you.
Beautiful Rich! I love the sharpness of the foreground grain. I didn’t know they grew wheat in NJ. (Are you sure that isn’t some other grain that they feed livestock? Rye, barley and oats all look similar.) I do recognize the farm — good ole Jersey Jerry’s.
Thanks Denise. Good catch on Jersey Jerry’s that is exactly where this is. It is wheat which is pretty common around here. I only know this because the County Agricultural Agent is a good friend so I know more about field crops than I probably need to.
