The McNeal Mansion was built in 1894 and, at 10,000 square feet, was the largest home in the area. It eventually became the head office of the US Pipe company and was expanded and, eventually, abandoned. The mansion has suffered fire and neglect, yet it remains standing. Upon entering the mansion, I was shocked at its total devastation. Although it is extremely well built, most of the important architectural features have been damaged or destroyed. The McNeal Mansion looks like it is part of a war zone.
